I have four options for self-publishing packages. Again, this is difficult to price here on the web site, because a project can range from a letter to a full length manuscript. For more detail on each service, please read the Individual Services descriptions. For quotes on your particular project please contact me. SILVER PACKAGE - in which I will do:* Full Edit; send back to you to go through and agree/disagree/do changes.* Second edit/changes according to your responses to the first edit. This will be the final edit in this package.* Professional Layout in InDesign, formatted to specifications from the printer you wish to use.* Create a proof reader's PDF which also goes to you for any changes to the layout.* Corrections from your response.* Proof read to catch any last errors.* Create a final Printer's PDF.* Note that this package does not include cover design; I can do that separately or you can create your own.PRICING FOR SILVER PACKAGE: Depending on project, with a £50 minimum fee. As a guide, a novel of 70,000 words with average degree of work needed on it would cost around £1250 from start to print-ready PDF.
AFTER CARE SERVICESOnce we have brought your book to print-ready PDF, you then have some choices to make: whether to take the print-ready PDF and handle it yourself, or have us take it further – to the printers, ordering, etc. If you are not sure what to do when we have delivered the print PDF to you, then we offer an After Care Service. This includes:* Conversion to both .mobi (Kindle) and .epub (other ebooks) formats (costs roughly £8- to £100 depending on complexity of your book).* The book needs a Supplier listed at Nielsen and preferably also at Bowker, the two main world fountainheads of ISBNs, and where distributors go to find information about your book, including where to purchase (ie who the Supplier is). The more data we can put up at Nielsen, the happier the buyers. Your book information is matched to the ISBN number, in order for buyers of all kinds to find and order it. We can either: a.List the Supplier as LSI, our worldwide print supplier, and thus also with Ingrams, the largest distributor in the USA – in which case anyone wanting to order will do so through their own system which filters back to Ingrams and LSI for provision of the books. Sales reports from LSI will come through to ScriptCraft; the Author will be paid the full amount of royalties coming in, less any admin fee to ourselves, at intervals chosen by the author – annually, 6-monthly, or even quarterly, at an admin fee each time (which covers our book keeper who goes through your sales sheets and works out what to pay you – ie your royalties – less our fee, and then pays you). OR: b.You may choose any other Supplier, including yourself, to be entered at Nielsen and Bowker. (Suppliers can be a chosen printer or distributor, or the Author.) In this case the sales reports will be sent to the author or in some cases must be fetched by the author, depending on the distributor or supplier. We will not be involved in this process, or in paying the author. Note that if you list yourself as the supplier you will need to decide on a printer, and get the PDF set up at that printer, at their fee, and then any orders that come in you will have to supply yourself. Best is to order at least 50 and then post them out individually per order, dealing with the buyers as necessary, invoicing them, etc.)* Marketing materials: it’s a good idea to have “handouts” to carry around with you, or have a stack of at book signings and talks. We can design these for you, in any shape or form including bookmarks, rack cards (our personal favourite as they are most useful and don’t get lost), post cards, mouse mats, mugs, clothing, hats, etc. The charges will vary and of course you are only paying for the design; ordering will be separate. For purposes of our price list we have only listed a few ideas. These prices are for non-editorial services, after your book’s final PDF has been completed, ready for printing. PRICING FOR AFTER CARE SERVICES: I can supply a price list at time of asking (due to changes in source/supplier costs I like to keep; this up to date).
